Last year marked 5 years since we first opened our doors to students across London and the South East. Many things have changed since our humble beginnings, including our location!
When The DAW Tutor first started life in 2017, I was running the entire operation from my home studio in Putney. Over the next few years, we grew to serve a huge area in the south east, encompassing all of London and the Home Counties. I could never have imagined what would happen in 2020.
With the pandemic keeping everyone locked away in their homes, the requests for Zoom lessons started flooding in and suddenly we were taking in students around the world in far-flung countries such as the United States, Japan, China, Canada and Kenya, as well as those in continental Europe. London became something of a ghost city during lockdown, so we briefly moved operations out to Surbiton, on the London/Surrey border.
It’s back to business as usual these days and face-to-face lessons and workshops are as popular as ever (although we always welcome new online students!). We have now been established here in our new surroundings of Lewisham, south east London, for nearly a year and I’m pleased to announce that all local students within the London Borough of Lewisham will now receive a 10% discount on any tuition package, including one-off lesson bookings and our Steinberg Certified Courses. That means if you attend Goldsmiths, Lewisham College or any of the local schools, you will receive an extra helping hand to help during this cost of living crisis, which is affecting us all.
